The Trinity College harp was the original inspiration for this design.  Starting from a museum line drawing
pinned to the wall, I expanded the string spacing a bit and adjusted the length of the bass strings to give them
a little more tension and in general mused over it quite a bit for several years and several harps.

Sticking strictly with the ideal string lengths, the outline retains that nice Guinness beer bottle look.  Those
old harp makers knew a thing or two.

The Ancient Celtic can be played on the lap, but it's a lapful.  Not what you'd call a compact harp but still
easily picked up with one hand and set in the car seat.

The large soundbox gives plenty of volume.
